Welcome conference organizers and program coordinators.
I have been doing public speaking for 20 years. I have also been involved in planning and finding speakers for large national conferences. So, I know how challenging it can be to find and schedule good speakers. This page is intended to make your job as an event planner a little easier.
When you book me for an event you can expect:
- Prompt, professional replies to your phone and email messages.
- Communication prior to your event about how I can best serve you and your audience.
- An announcement about your event on my social media channels (optional).
- A professionally prepared, dynamically delivered presentation tailored to your audience.
- Follow-up communication after the event to make sure I met your expectations. I welcome all feedback, including how I can improve.
My Speaking Topics
I speak on topics related to successful aging, improving healthspan, and long-term wellness. I will tailor my presentation to meet your organization’s needs and desired outcomes.
I have a 6-part series titled (Creating and Living Your Best Third Act) that is designed to be delivered as a weekly or monthly program to 55+ communities. I also present any combination of these as a keynote or half-day seminar.
Maximizing life’s third act
Make the next 20 years your best yet by creating a wellness plan that prevents disease and keeps you energized and expanding your horizons. In this first of a 6-part series we discuss tackling our final developmental stage of life with the gusto of a 20-year-old and the wisdom of a centenarian.
Your body is your temple: Activity for lifelong health
In this second of a 6-part series we discuss the many different types of physical activity needed to maintain strength, fitness, balance, bone and metabolic health. We also discuss strategies to leverage this keystone habit to make other desirable lifestyle changes.
To sleep, perchance to dream: Rest and recovery for health
In this third of a 6-part series we discuss the health benefits and healing properties of sleep, rest, and recovery. We also discuss strategies to improve habits and maximize the quality of our restorative sleep.
An apple a day: Say no to diets, yes to nourishment
In this fourth of a 6-part series we discuss the importance of managing energy, not weight, and the role of nutrition in preserving bone, muscle, brain, metabolism, gut, and immune health.
What, me worry? Strategies for maximizing emotional and cognitive well-being
In this fifth of a 6-part series we discuss strategies for dealing with stress, loneliness, grief, depression. We also discuss strategies for maintaining memory and slowing cognitive decline, and address how emotions and cognition intersect.
Future planning for peace of mind
In this final talk of the series we discuss topics we often prefer to put off, but that can greatly improve our peace of mind when addressed. We discuss the benefits of long-term care plans, advanced directives, financial/estate plans, and tackling difficult conversations with family.
A little about me. I have a long-standing passion for overall wellness and disease prevention. Trained as an Integrative Physiologist, I spent more than 20 years studying healthy aging at the University of Colorado. My research covered a variety of topics, including: exercise, nutrition, metabolism, sleep, stress hormones, menopause, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.
